Well, Here It is!

Well, here it is! What a scary leap of faith this is! I finally got the courage to build a website. Though it is a work in progress, and probably always will be as I continue to grow and learn, I am excited to finally start this aspect of my life. With this being a new blog post, I will not bore you all with my life story (that is all there to bore you in the about section…).

I will start off by saying, a huge, absolute, and incredible thank you to everyone who has supported me in my endeavors on this so far. I am by no means a huge, well-known photographer who gets to be featured in international galleries across the world and hanging my art up in five-star hotel lobbies. But honestly, that is what I love about what I do. I never planned to get into photography, it just slowly grew on me more and more and my passion kept expanding. I love being a hobbyist and plan to always keep it that way for the simple fun and enjoyments I get out of it in life and hopefully many of you will as well.

Last year, I thought it would be a cute gift idea to make about 5-10 Alaska-themed calendars for the holidays. It was cheaper to buy in bulk, so I bought just a few more to round up. I posted on social medial if anyone cared for these few left (or if I would have to enforce them as a gift on someone or throw them away). Within hours, many comments on the posts, text messages, phone calls, and direct messages (finally getting slides into my DMs), reached out to me wanting a calendar. Not the plan, but ya know.. I could order a few more. For weeks, I was getting a lot of requests for calendars from friends, family, coworkers, gym goers, and followers. What I thought would be a single digit item order, exploded into the triple digits. I was shocked, humbled, flattered, and excited. I loved seeing everyone receive these packages and gifts. I cannot verbalize the amount of thankfulness for the support of these calendars and only the emotions I felt could define what it meant to me.

The requests are coming back in for the end of the year. I decided to build a website to not only facilitate sharing my work with people who are interested, but to organize platform better. I wanted to be able to display my passions more for people to get a glimpse of what my eyes have seen from where my feet have taken me. You may look at this and say hey this sucks! And that is fine! I am not creating this platform as a way to build my life up, but as a way to share it for those who are interested.

So this first post is in dedication to all of you who have given me the support, positive attitudes, and helped to this milestone for me.
